Construction on a new road to connect Route 24 (Gurnet Road) to Admiral Fitch Avenue at Brunswick Landing continues. See photos below.
We anticipate a mid- to late-summer opening. The road will help alleviate traffic congestion at the Cook’s Corner intersection. Currently, Avenue Fitch is the only way to enter the Landing from Bath Road. The new road will allow motorists to access Brunswick Landing from the east and Cundy’s Harbor and Orr’s and Bailey Islands.
The 1,500 foot road is an approximately $2.2 million project. The Town of Brunswick is paying $1.2 million to build the road while the Maine DOT and MRRA are contributing $800,000 and $200,000, respectively.
