About the Role
We’re looking for an Administrative Assistant who can wear many hats (and maybe wear one at a member mixer or holiday party). If you’re someone who loves variety, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and genuinely enjoys helping others, read on.
This role is part organizer, part problem-solver, part concierge, and part community-builder. One minute you might be updating spreadsheets or answering phones; the next, welcoming a VIP guest, showing a contractor to a workspace, or coordinating lunch for 30. It’s never boring—and you’ll never be on your own. You’ll work closely with our Director, TechPlace members, and a great team of fun, hardworking people at MRRA.
Note: This position requires the ability to move easily throughout our large facility—walking to member spaces, escorting visitors or vendors, gathering information, and posting notices. Comfortable mobility is essential.
You’ll Love This Job If You:
- Can juggle tasks like a pro without dropping the ball
• Don’t just wait to be told what to do—you see what needs doing and do it
• Love talking to people and making them feel welcome
• Keep things organized even when chaos knocks
• Get satisfaction from a clean conference room, a well-organized spreadsheet, or a fun member program
• Appreciate a quirky, mission-driven, get-things-done kind of workplace
• Bring a good sense of humor to the table and enjoy working with people who do the same
What You’ll Do:
- Be the friendly face of TechPlace—greeting guests, answering phones, assisting members
• Keep our shared spaces and systems running smoothly (think mail sorting, supply ordering, key tracking, kitchen wrangling)
• Manage databases and update files like a detail-oriented wizard
• Coordinate member communications, welcome packets, and PR shout-outs
• Help plan and support events—lunch & learns, community meetups, seasonal gatherings, and more
• Maintain and request repairs for office equipment, vending machines, and appliances
• Assist with use agreements, insurance certificates, conference room scheduling, and shared space logistics
• Collaborate with the Director on special projects, marketing ideas, and funding leads
• Step up and pitch in—especially when you’re caught up on your main tasks
• Keep an eye out for ways we can work smarter or support our members better
What You Bring:
We’ll train you on the tools. But we can’t train personality, attitude, or initiative—those are non-negotiables.
• A strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail
• Punctuality, dependability, and a positive outlook
• An outgoing, approachable, and service-oriented personality
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and eager to learn new tools
• A willingness to collaborate and ask questions
• The ability to stay calm, cool, and kind—even when things get busy
• Social media and marketing awareness is a plus
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• A good sense of humor and the ability to roll with the unexpected
Why Join TechPlace?
- A supportive and welcoming team
• Direct contact with startups and innovators doing amazing things
• A unique work environment at Brunswick Landing
• Room to grow your skills and try new things
• Plenty of laughs, snacks, and shared wins
• Work alongside a small but mighty team of smart, hardworking, genuinely good humans at MRRA
