Midcoast Charitable Foundation
2025 Grant Application
Thank you for your interest in receiving charitable donations from the Midcoast Charitable Foundation of Maine (“Foundation”). Selected charities will receive a portion of the proceeds of venue fees from public events held at Brunswick Landing. The total revenue available for distribution is $25,000.
Background
In 2011, the Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority created the Midcoast Charitable Foundation of Maine, a separate 501(c)(3) organization for purpose of receiving and holding charitable funds and distribute the income for charitable purposes to organizations serving individuals and families in the Midcoast Maine region. The mission of the Foundation is to strengthen community organizations and services that will improve the quality of life, economic viability and sustainability of the communities and not for profit organizations that serve the Midcoast region.
Applicants must be nonprofit, 501(c)(3) federal tax-exempt organizations in the following categories: charitable organizations, educational or literary organizations or a social welfare charity organized under the provisions of 501(c) (4). Organizations whose missions include lobbying, public policy development, donations to individuals or discriminate based on race, color, sex, sexual or gender orientation, age, physical or mental disability, genetic pre-disposition, religion, ancestry or national origin are not eligible.
The Foundation anticipates making grants in the range of $1,000 to $3,000 per organization; but awards may be higher for compelling needs and projects. Total available funds for grant distribution this year is $25,000. Applicants should expect to be notified of an award or not in February of 2025. It is the goal of the Foundation to disperse all funds no later than March 31, 2025.
Guidelines for Application:
To apply, please prepare a letter to the Foundation that addresses the following issues for your organization:
- Name of Organization.
- Name of Executive Director or Manager.
- Organization contact information: Name, Title, Address, Phone, Fax, Email, Website, Region Served, Not-for-profit status.
- Your agency’s mission and goals.
- Name of project for which funds will be used.
- Amount requested.
- How would your organization use the funds received? Be as specific as possible.
- Number of individuals served by this project.
- Please report your Federal Tax Identification Number.
Please submit no more than five pages (minimum 11 pt. type).

MRRA staff will review the grant applications and present their recommendations on grant awards to the Foundation Board of Directors for their consideration at a meeting its February 2025 meeting.
