We wanted to give you an update on the road reconstruction associated with The Katahdin Drive Utility Project.
Tomorrow (Tuesday, September 23rd) Crooker Construction will begin to grind/reclaim the pavement on Pegasus Street from Line Drive to Katahdin Drive and the Hangar 6 entrance road. This will require closure of the road as they do the grinding and regrading, and it will continue on and off for the next few days to prepare the road for pavement. They will open the road to thru traffic when they are not working. Paving operations will require to again close the road.
Hangar 6 Tenants and Employees CAN utilize Katahdin Drive and also access Pegasus from Seahawk. We will have a flagger at that intersection during work.
They are also working on grading of the northern stretch of Katahdin Drive this week and will be installing gravel from the fuel farm thru to the Allagash Drive Intersection. This stretch or road will continue to be closed to pedestrian and thru traffic during work hours and will occur separately from the work on Pegasus. They will work with Blue Dog to maintain access for their clients.
Once the grading is complete, they will pave Katahdin Drive. They will need to keep Katahdin closed to thru traffic during work hours until gravel shoulders are in place; utility covers are brough to grade, roadsides are loamed/seeded, and pavement markings are installed.
Thank you in advance for your patience during this time.
