3/12/25 – Statement of Daniel Stevenson:
On February 27, 2025, the Maine Department of Environmental Protection sent a letter to Navy Facilities BRAC Office notifying it of elevated concentration of the sum of 6 regulated PFAS contaminants (33.1 ng/L) of a drinking water well serving the Mere Creek Golf Course exceeding the Maine’s interim standard for PFAS of 20 ng/L. MaineDEP noted in its letter that the source of the PFAS in the well is currently unknown. The Midcoast Regional Redevelopment Authority owns the Mere Creek Golf Course and leases that facility to the Harris Golf Company.
